DHA License Consultant Scams: How to Check if an Agency Is Legit

Last checked: 8 November 2026

Short answer: a legit DHA license consultant has a trade license you can check, lets you keep your Sheryan and DataFlow accounts in your own name, lets you pay official fees through official portals, and never guarantees a license. If one of these is missing, walk away.

The scams doctors actually run into

1. Fake DataFlow reports

DataFlow, the company that verifies your documents for the DHA, warns about "agencies and individuals producing fake DataFlow Reports". The danger is that the fake report is filed under your name. DataFlow says forged documents can lead to "a permanent ban on practicing in your chosen field", and that "fabricating and submitting false documents is a criminal offense in many jurisdictions".

2. "Guaranteed license" or "no exam needed" for a fee

Only the DHA decides who gets a license and who is exempt from the exam. Exemptions follow the published Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR), not a payment to an agent. Anyone who sells you a guaranteed result is either lying or planning something illegal.

3. Accounts the agent controls

Some agents create your Sheryan or DataFlow account with their own email address. You then cannot see what was submitted, and you depend on them to get your own documents back.

4. Inflated "government fees"

The agent quotes one lump sum and calls most of it government fees. You never see an official receipt, so you cannot tell what went to the authority and what went to the agent.

5. Companies that do not exist on paper

A website, a WhatsApp number and a logo are easy to make. A trade license is not. Fake agencies often cannot name their legal entity or give a license number.

7-step check before you pay anyone

  1. Ask for the legal company name and trade license number. Check it in the official register: for mainland Dubai companies through the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) or the Dubai business directory on investindubai.gov.ae, for free zone companies through the register of that free zone.
  2. Match the names. The company on the contract, the invoice, the website and the bank account should be the same.
  3. Keep the accounts in your name. Your Sheryan and DataFlow accounts should use your own email address. A good consultant works with you inside your accounts, not instead of you.
  4. Pay official fees officially. Government, DataFlow and Prometric fees should be paid through the official portals and show up on official receipts. The consultant's fee is a separate invoice.
  5. Track DataFlow yourself. DataFlow offers an official status portal (dataflowstatus.com). If your agent says "verified" and the portal does not, stop.
  6. Refuse guarantees. A serious consultant guarantees the service and the process. No one outside the DHA can guarantee the license, an exam pass or a fixed date.
  7. Read reviews from your profession. Look at Google Maps and Trustpilot, and look for reviews from doctors or dentists, not only from nurses or general visa clients.
Red flags at a glance: no trade license number, payment to a private account, "100% guaranteed", "no exam needed" without a PQR reason, accounts created with the agent's email, refusal to give official receipts.

Frequently asked questions

Are DHA license consultants a scam?

Most are real companies, but scams exist. DataFlow itself warns about fake DataFlow reports. Check the trade license, keep accounts and official payments in your name, and track your DataFlow status yourself.

What happens if I submit a fake DataFlow report?

According to DataFlow, forged documents can lead to a permanent ban on practising in your field and can be a criminal offence. This applies even if an agent produced the document without your knowledge.

Can I apply for the DHA license without any agent?

Yes. The DHA Sheryan portal is open to every applicant. When an agency is still worth it.
